Come out to BAMM! Have fun, eat well, and support a great cause!
The Locust Grove Arts Alliance and Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry are sponsoring BAMM! partly to help raise funds for the VFW Building Campaign. The VFW is going to be the site of the Smithsonian Water/Ways exhibit this fall, and then in the future, the LGAA has plans to procure grants to renovate the whole building.
On Friday, July 19, we need your help to start cleaning and painting and repairing the bathroom in the VFW. If you come and lend your help for 2 hours anytime after 8 am. ROMP will give you a coupon for a free DJ’s Diner hamburger. DJ’s will be set up on Main Street for this event.
Also, Tristan Cook will be leading a jam session inside Wonder City Coffee, so come to play or come to listen or to dance.
The Magic Showplace just down the street will have magic shows going at the same time, also.
And in the LGAA gallery, a member art show/sale will be going on. Local artists will have works on display for you to purchase and all money will be donated to the VFW Building Fund.
The LGAA is in need of help in cleaning/repairing the VFW and also funds for new lighting: These are urgent needs that must be met in the next few months.
In the long term, the LGAA is looking for grants and donations to fund the building renovation.
