Upcoming Exhibit: Passed Down

PASSED DOWN: Submission Form

ABOVE: In this photo by Roxann Perkins Yates, you see her great-grandparents Paralee and John Wilkinson with their children: Hersal Wilkinson (Yates’ grandfather) and Elsie Wilkinson Lair. The photo was taken circa 1920. In the background of Yates’ photo, two miles west of Locust Grove, is the Wilkinson land that the Wilkinson descendants now live on.

In honor of Locust Grove family members on Founder’s Day, for this year’s art show, the gallery will exhibit items from town family history. The display will run May 11-June 8.

The LGAA is currently soliciting items for this exhibit. Please see the details above and use the submission form if you have items to include in the exhibit.

Most of the items need to be hung on the gallery hooks. However we will also have some tables and display cases for displays. An LGAA or Chamber volunteer will always be on hand to supervise whenever the gallery is open.

Consider displaying books, clothing, hats, tools, photos, badges, certificates, news articles, recipes. The list is endless. If you have shadow boxes of family items, those, too, are suitable for the show.

Please bring you entry to the LGAA office or Wonder City Coffee by May 4 for the show on May 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
